I've always been intrigued by both the inherent organization and the
aesthetic aspect of things. This fascination has led me along a circuitous
path which began with coloring books, paper dolls and building blocks
then on to model airplanes, space exploration and astronomy
and on
to philosophy and medicine and cognitive psychology
then to architecture
and design
bringing me back to where I started, to coloring and building.
Although my path has ended up circling back to first passions, my various
travels and experiences along the way have all contributed to my evolving
view of the universe and of humanity. There is always more than one perspective
from which to view the world
and there is always more than one solution
to a problem.
Whether the frontier is spatial or mental, actual or virtual, much of
the excitement for me is in discovery
expanding my knowledge and
experience
and learning to see things in a new way. It is the intrinsic
dichotomies that unfold during the design process that beckon me
engaging both sides of my brain
enticing me to get at the essence
of things and to bring to light the balance
between the technical
and the creative, the real and the ideal, the finite and the infinite,
the details and the big picture, gravity and levity.
I started @TLANTIS with the intention that it would be a multi-disciplinary
adventure
and I have not been disappointed.
I do what I dig and I dig what I do. Life is good.
