Cart Driver is inspired by the Carrettiera of Southern Italy, Cart Drivers delivering Italian farm goods to the villages via horse drawn cart. This was the concept that the owners wanted to put into a pair of shipping containers encompassing 640 square feet.


Space efficiency, flow and layout are key to this concept. Working closely with Chef Kelly Whitaker, SA incorporated a wood fired pizza oven, abbreviated kitchen, dish and prep as well as dine in space, bar and order line into this tiny space. Metals, both introduced and accented from the shipping container, are enhanced and warmed through the generous use of rustic woods.
